Apex Audio Systems Sales was formed in October 2001 after acquiring a company called CEMAC Ltd. who for 20 years was a well known company in the electronic speech transfer and induction loop business.
As more and more security is being installed into all types of buildings, banks, building societies, council offices, etc; in fact anywhere where the public has to talk to a member of staff, it presents a communication problem.
Sound by it's very nature needs to be treated as a separate issue. It is so often overlooked and "tacked on" as an afterthought.
There are not too many companies out there that actually design and manufacture speech transfer systems; however, Apex is one of them.
Apex is unique inasmuch as although we use our standard product range in the majority of situations we also relish getting involved in projects that have particular problems that need individual solutions.
We feel that the whole issue of voice transfer should revolve around transferring individual voices through any sort of screen, door, window, etc; in the most natural sounding way.
In other words we don't want you to hear our system working. Just increasing the volume of a voice and transferring it often leads the transfer to sound distorted, tinny as if speaking through a tin can and hard to understand.
This in turn leads to tension and can increase the chances of confrontation.
Apex always endeavour to make the speech sound natural, as if the screen is not there at all and apart from the hardware that is needed make the system blend in with it's surroundings.

Natural electronic speech transfer can be a complex issue and is quite often misunderstood. If not misunderstood it can be forgotten altogether! And the need for it only becomes apparent after the installation is complete and the budget is spent!
At apex we always try to be involved at as early a stage as possible in order to ensure the correct speech system is specified from the start.
The ambient surroundings, the counter and screen design, shape, size and material used in construction all affect the efficiency of a speech transfer system. Split level counters need consoles, audio trays cannot be used in all cases, and different system configuration could be required. We are always available to advise and will, when appropriate visit a site to survey (on your behalf) as well as, in certain circumstances offer a no cost trial system.
Apex has its own installation engineers and will always offer to install your system at a reasonable cost, when we do this we guarantee the system (s) for both parts and labour for 2 years provided the system (s) have not been damaged or tampered with.
